Estancia is all set to get an exclusive BSNL telephone exchange within the complex enabling "Total Telecom Solutions" to all the residential units, as per the MoU signed between the promoters (L & T and Arun Excello) and BSNL.
The Economic Times Full article here [economictimes.indiatimes.com] While the proposal of setting up telephone exchanges is an obvious necessity for such large townships in farther suburbs, it is always better to have provision for multiple players providing access. In our 10 year old apartment complex in Velachery, BSNL does have underground lines running to all blocks and into the apartments. Enabling a new connection in an apartment is as easy as plugging the phone into sockets (after the line is configured to go live). But, all other lines including Hathway, Airtel Landline, etc.,. have their wires hanging between blocks and running through windows into the residential units. So, it is important that additional concealed piping is made available for other competing service providers to route their land-line services, at a later date. Hope such MoU-s do not have clauses for blocking out additional provisions for competing services. |

| Sathyam Cinemas, which had been working with Arun Excello in the design and planning of the township's entertainment section consisting of malls, food courts and multiplexes may well take the plunge in renting it out too.
While the bid is open for all and with players Inox and PVR in the fray, at rental rates around Rs.50/sqft, Sathyam is said to be in the final stages of inking the deal, as per Economic Times [economictimes.indiatimes.com]. Economic Times The possible seating capacity and potential audience turnout for the multiplex is obviously a concern for Sathyam, due to the location of the project (at Maraimalai Nagar, in the outskirts of Chennai). Sathyam may be using this point as a negotiating tool in the process leading to finalizing the rental rates. Construction work for the multiplex space is expected to be will be over by mid 2010, while the cinemas are expected to be operation by March 2011. Apart from this, MPEG4 compatible DTH wiring is to be being provided to all apartments.. Economic Times Good to know that the wiring will remain compatible with other service providers. It seems that L&T Arun Excello is not going to let the slow down get in its way, firing away PR after PR of exclusive facilities coming up at its project. Good show guys !!
